Yorkshire Sculpture Park: Jaume Plensa

Just before college broke up for the summer holidays this year, I went on a trip to Yorkshire Sculpture Park to research on sculptures for the white shirt project. So I thought I’d share some photos as a teaser to what is there!

For those of you who don’t know, Plensa is quite the accomplished sculptor and artist, whose works are displayed all over the world, from Barcelona to Chicago to Japan.

By all means, check out his work in person if you can, especially as this exhibition was made to be ‘interactive’. My most favorite works showcased, had to be the Alabaster Heads, they were very surreal – marble that appeared to be alive and breathing, a little freaky!

  1. Wow. Beautiful shots. I wasn’t familiar with his work before seeing this, but will have to research him now. Especially love the wire mesh faces with the clouds.
